Charlotte County bucked the trend in the New Brunswick provincial general election on October 21. Voters in both Saint Croix and Fundy The Isles Saint John Lorneville stuck with the Progressive Conservatives even as the party lost seats across the province to the Liberals under leader Susan Holt.

All seven candidates running in the Saint Croix riding in the October 21 provincial general election say Campobello Island needs a year round ferry. They agree that law courts should return to Charlotte County and that the area faces issues with homelessness, drugs, crime and healthcare.
