Tidal power model to be tested off city this fall
A one-third scale model of a tidal turbine generator will be placed in the waters off Clark's Ledge, Eastport, in mid-November for a month of feasibility testing. The installation of the test unit is the first of two steps before a commercial project can be built.
District partners for schools to be topic of upcoming forums

Former Mearl site eyed by land-based fish farm company
A proposal by a land-based salmon farming company to lease part of the property at the former Mearl Corporation site at Broad Cove in Eastport has been made to the Eastport Port Authority.
Rezoning for dump favored by LURC staff
Maine Land Use Regulation Commission staff are recommending that the commission approve a request by Marion Transfer Station Inc. to rezone 120 acres in Township 14 to allow for the development of a secure landfill for construction and demolition debris (CDD).
