A DOWNEAST MARITIME FOURTH. THE FOURTH OF JULY IS CELEBRATED AROUND THE BAY with many traditions centered on the water. Successfully grabbing the flag during the Greasy Pole contest in Eastport is Ari Tomassetti of Westbrook, Conn. Jellyfish floating home for the Fourth won first place in the Eastport Torchlight Parade and second in the Callithumpian Parade. Three men in a dory raced in Lubec on July 6 and 7. The second annual Fishermen’s Dory Race winners were the members of Team Brodie — Brian Brodie, Tracey Sawtelle and Derek Lyons. Second place went to Team BBP — Ethan Plaut, Brannin Buehner and Brian Bell. Third place went to Team Moose — Bram Williams, Jeff Jones and Sheldon Lyons.
