A series of vehicle thefts in Calais -- including one that resulted in an SUV dumped in the St. Croix River -- has kept police and fire department officials busy over the past month.

Kailie Brackett, 40, of Sipayik has been sentenced to 55 years in prison for the murder of Kimberly Neptune of Sipayik in April 2022. The sentence was issued by Judge Robert Murray on May 10 in Washington County Superior Court.
