Five scallop fishermen rescued after skiff overturns off Eastport
Five fisherman survived being in the 39-degree waters of Cobscook Bay for up to three-quarters of an hour after their skiff overturned in Deep Cove, Eastport, on January 30. After one of the fishermen swam to shore to get help, the other four were rescued by the U.S.

DOC restructuring proposal considers closing county jail
The just released proposal by the Maine Department of Corrections (DOC) to restructure the state's county jail system did not come out of the blue, but nonetheless Washington County Commission Chair Chris Gardner says that he's surprised they "took this route."
