Lubec budget fails in referendum vote

Lubec voters defeated the proposed 2008B2009 MSAD 19 budget in voting on Tuesday, June 10, by eight votes, with 136 in favor and 144 opposing the budget. The $2,050,000 budget had been approved at a public meeting five days before but went down to defeat in the state-mandated second vote.

Plan for converting waste into energy presented by company
