Competing with some of the brightest young engineers in the state, a team of students from Washington County emerged victorious in the First Lego League State Championship over the weekend of February 3 to 4.

A young harp seal had an adventure at Gleason's Cove in Perry that ended well. Stranded on a high tide, the seal was first discovered by Perry resident Josh Overton on the morning of January 16.

A drop in centre at Neighbourhood Works might prevent people without homes from freezing to death in St. Stephen this winter. The group opened the centre at its headquarters in the former Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church on December 8, the day of the funeral for Adam Dickerson.

A young Grand Mananer recently decided he wanted to give back to the organization that has helped him, and on Saturday, November 25, eight year old Isaac MacKenzie Granger handed over the money he has raised for Shriners hospitals to members of the Mananook Lodge #38.
