Two towns divided on school additions Perry turns down expansion
Voters turned out at the polls on December 15 in Perry to cast ballots on whether or not to support a referendum question, requested by the school committee, to build a four-room modular classroom onto the Perry Elementary School.
Pembroke proposal squeaks by
On December 15, Pembroke residents, by a vote of 60 to 54, supported a proposal to borrow $190,000 for a four-classroom/two bathroom modular building at the Pembroke Elementary School.
Quoddy Bay LNG proposal filed with FERC
Quoddy Bay LLC on December 16 filed its pre-application with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to construct a $500-million liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility at Split Rock, Pleasant Point, and a storage facility in Perry.
