HERE TODAY, GONE TOMORROW

HERE TODAY, GONE TOMORROW. An 87-ton Yankee dryer, bound for Trois-Rivières, Quebec, is hoisted onto the freighter Egmondgracht at the Estes Head port terminal in Eastport on November 21. The movements of the dryer are symbolic of the decline in paper-making in the state of Maine, as it had been imported through the Port of Eastport for the Lincoln Paper and Tissue mill 10 years ago and had been used until the mill filed for bankruptcy in 2015.
