HIGH AND DRY. During strong winds on an extreme high tide on November 27, the 98-foot steel hull vessel Super Transporter became detached from its mooring in Broad Cove, Eastport, and was blown onto a beach near Cony Park. There has been no damage to the secured vessel, and contained fluids and fuel were removed by Clean Harbors, in consultation with the U.S. Coast Guard and the Department of Environmental Protection. A removal plan is being developed. The vessel has been used to provide services to Cooke Aquaculture USA Inc. for local operations. (Edward French photo)
