THE UNLOADING OF LOGS

THE UNLOADING OF LOGS
THE UNLOADING OF LOGS at the Port of Eastport's bulk storage yard for a test of the port authority's shipboard heat-treating phytosanitation equipment next spring will continue for the next few weeks. The port authority is acquiring 6,000 short tons of under-utilized softwood logs from H.C. Haynes Inc. of Winn. The logs will be chipped next April for the phytosanitation test aboard ship, and if the wood chips are not marketed overseas they will still be offloaded and utilized in Maine.
