TO THE RESCUE

TO THE RESCUE! The five-man crew on the 29-foot response boat from U.S. Coast Guard Station Eastport prepares to pick up a 17-year-old whose 10-foot paddle boat had swamped off Robbinston on Saturday morning, April 2. A 20-knot wind had kicked up three- to four-foot seas, and the water temperature was 380. The teenager, who did not have a life preserver, was safely transported to awaiting EMS personnel at the Robbinston boat landing. See this issue an article on the rescue. (Jordan Johannes photo)
