WITH WAVING ARMS AND WIDE SMILES

WITH WAVING ARMS AND WIDE SMILES, children had fun in many events during the Fourth of July celebrations Downeast. Above, excited participants
take part in the Penny Scramble the morning of the Fourth in Eastport,
while at the right two young three-legged racers laugh as they cross the
finish line in downtown Eastport. On the left, Maggie Jean successfully makes
her way across the lobster crates during the Fourth celebration in
Cutler. Only 16 of the 75 participants made it across. The youngest one
to do so was age 2, although he received some assistance. See this issue
